let me draw you a picture

Remember when I posted the Yarn Bomb by artist Juliana Santacruz? Well, here is more beautiful invasive crochet by artist Crystal Gregory. Oh wouldn’t you like to see yarn and crochet delightfully threading our city streets? I especially love that this every day abrasive razor wire is made soft with a little creativity- a gorgeous contrast in a sometimes grey and uninviting city.
Crystal says of the work:
It “challenges gender roles by placing handwork on hardened city surfaces around New York. Crocheting lace doilies onto the razor wire of an abandoned lot for the 14th Street public art show Art in Odd Places, smothering the urban landscape in a soft, decorative, and familiar juxtaposition.”
